Pirate Day

This day we decided to be pirates, which happens quite often at our house. We read How I Became a Pirate, colored Jake and then watched Jake and the Neverland Pirates. I also had them do a little alphabet scavenger hunt, just so the activity was somewhat educational. They had to bring me objects that started with the letters in Pirate. Once they finished I handed them a treasure map I made. It sent them all over the house, ending at the fridge where a treat was waiting inside. Lots of fun!

Summer Fun Activity One

I haven't blogged in forever, but I plan on having a super awesome summer with my three boys and I want to document it. My five year old, Nathan  and I sat down and brainstormed some of the fun day trips and activities we would do the month of June and I decided to make the hours I've spent on pinterest count and do some of the things from the countless list of "Fun, Free, Easy, Things to do with your toddlers, kids, boys this summer, at home, outside, etc"

Today we had a "Lion" day. We read one of their favorite books Deadliest Animals
Then we painted lion faces with paper plates and noodles for the mane

Next, we watched Lion King 1 1/2

Last, we played a game I call Lion Tail Tag. I attached a tail (or yellow tube sock) to their back with a clothes pin. I told them they had to crawl around like a lion and try to steal each others tail. A pretty intense wrestling match followed, but I think they enjoyed themselves and I loved watch my little lion cubs play.

My cute kids having fun

Nathan got a new bike!

We went down to Long Beach with some family to go to the Aquarium. It was one of the best Saturdays we've had.

The boys with their cousins.

We also went to the Tar Pits a while back. Nathan wants to be a paleontologist so he loved it.

Back when it was raining a lot, we made some edible play-doh one day. Nathan played with it while Collin tested just how edible it was.

I had to put another Disneyland picture with our group we always go with. I'm so glad we have friends to meet down there.

Disneyland and Football

We love Disneyland! I'm even more excited to go now that my best friends Stacy and Audrey and their kids have passes. More good times are to come.

The Raiders. The past 6 weeks, Nathan played in a pee wee flag football league in Fontana for 3 and 4 year olds. It was a lot of fun watching him run around. I wouldn't go as far as to say Nathan loved it, there were days he didn't want to play, but it was a good experience, doing an organized activity. Maybe he'll be more prepared to start his real sport, baseball.

Getting his award.

Running with the ball. One of the hardest things to teach the kids was to run in the right direction. It was so cute to watch.

Nathan practicing playing catch. None of the kids could really catch. In the games, they just handed off the ball.

Halloween 2010

Trick or Treating with Stacy, Spencer and Cody.

Cutest yoda ever, look at that smile!

Having fun at the ward Halloween party.

He only put his hand in the pumpkin for the picture, I cleaned out all three pumpkins, but that's what moms do right?!

Catching up

You have to love summertime! We've been living it up about every weekend. Collin loves the ocean (I know he isn't smiling, but trust me)
Nathan rode a Ferris wheel for the first time with Grandpa down in Balboa. We also discovered how much our boys love seafood; shrimp, crab and lobster.
We went to Matt and Wendy's wedding. It was so beautiful and we love them so much!
I have the best husband who lets me go out with me girls often and boy do we have a good time.
This year Fourth of July was WONDERFUL! All our family, including most the Utahans were here to swim, bbq and light some fireworks.
I love this picture of Collin at the beach. He was so cold, just hanging out eating some grapes.
We went to an Angel's game with Uncle Justin. Which means Nathan had someone else to bug about getting some cotton candy.
In June, Ryan and I went up the coast for our fifth anniversary. We stayed in Morro Bay and went to Hearst Castle. I would pack my bags and leave again tomorrow to go back up there if I could. It was the best weekend.
